History of Murrieta Hot Springs

The two female dormitories for Calvary Chapel Bible College-Monterey and California-were once hotels for Guenther’s Murrieta Hot Springs. The Monterey Hotel was completed in 1904 with running water and a toilet in each room. The California Hotel was built in 1908 to keep up with the demand of the ever-increasing popularity of the hot springs. These rooms were equipped with steam heat and possessed all of the modern conveniences of a first-class resort. In 1916, rates for the California Hotel were $26 to $28 per week, per couple. Since then, the bathrooms for both buildings have been remodeled and upgraded for the convenience of the students.

Did you know that?
