Guests from all over California, and even the country, would visit Murrieta to spend time at Guenther’s Murrieta, dubbed “California’s Greatest Health Resort.” Most traveled by train. Fritz Guenther met visitors from Los Angeles at the Santa Fe train station in Murrieta twice a day and transported them in his open Reliance bus. In 1904, the round-trip ticket from Los Angeles cost $3.20 and was good for thirty days. When a large group was visiting, the Santa Fe added an extra car, and Fritz supplied an orchestra for their travel entertainment.
